Creative Director
Austin Meros
My name is Austin Meros, and I’m a Graphic,3D, and Motion Designer based in Portland, Oregon.
I first became seriously interested in doing visual art during my senior year in High School when I took a class that focused on Cinema4D and Photoshop. Initially, I had fun with just editing photos, but then gradually wanted to explore more of the tools that Photoshop had to offer. I started drawing but realized that it wasn’t for me. I still wanted to be creative visually, and eventually started messing around in Adobe Illustrator. Later, I found out that it was used for graphics and logos, which excited me, and I took a typography class my second semester in college.
Later on, I decided to change my major from Music Production, to Graphic Design. Initially, I did this because I enjoyed working with design programs so much, then later realized the wide array of skills it encourages you to have, and all the different types of people you get to work with. In a way, you are a visual reporter, learning about a situation, person, or event, and reciting it back to others in a visually interesting way.
When it comes to working in the field of Design, I’ve realized over the past few years that experimentation is crucial to further improving your skills, the importance of remembering that everything has its own message, and realizing that not every single project you work on is going to be incredibly fun, or focused on a topic you really like. Instead, try to see it as a learning opportunity to gain or improve your knowledge on something you weren’t previously familiar with.
Currently I’m creating work that consists of retro-futuristic and sci-fi elements and themes. Much of what I produce consists of large amounts of visual detail, which comes from the research I did into the subject at hand, or simply from what I feel is aesthetically pleasing.
As for photography, I’m currently taking a break to focus more of my efforts into design, but I know I will eventually experiment more with that medium, and will definitely not shy away if a job ever requires me to combine both.
I hope you enjoy my work, and be sure to follow me on all the socials! Please contact me if you have any questions about working together, or if you just want to say hi! Links are at the bottom of this page.
